Yolanda Walters… Child of God! Prophet! Author! Coach!  Influencer!  Speaker! Mother! Daughter! Sister! Friend!

Now that we have the formalities out of the way, let’s talk about the woman.

Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,  before you were born I set you apart; I

Appointed you as a prophet to the nations".

 

     Prophet Yolanda Walters was born and raised in the great city of Sumter, SC. She has the distinct honor of being the anointed daughter of Reverend and Mrs. Marion G. Walters. Being raised in the church from birth, she held many different positions within the church. Her life was dedicated to Christ early on!

     During these early times, Prophet Walters developed a strong love and desire to help her fellow sisters and brothers become free and delivered, by bringing out those who are silently dying inside through the unadulterated Word of God! In her private life, she was honored and blessed to become Queen mother of her two princes – Diquandrae’ and Diontae’; whom she loves with her whole being! They brought, and continue to bring, an inspirational joy to her life. However, it was during these times things began to change for the Prophetess, and her faith was about to be tested beyond measure. Her initial wilderness began with an emotionally and physically abusive marriage, which caused a major detour in her spiritual journey! This marriage introduced her to drugs for two major reasons – one to prevent the physical abuse she was experiencing, and two to numb the pain from this abuse. The drug use started with marijuana, then progressed through various drugs, ending with the highly addictive crack cocaine.

 

 Redeeming Power Number One: she left her husband/abuser! 

     Although she left the man that got her started, the drug use continued and had gotten out of hand. It had gotten so bad, she no longer cared about the things or people she once adored… her children, her ministerial work, and her family! Her emotions during this time, via the Prophetess herself, were “I wanted to die. I wanted to commit suicide. I was ashamed. I was embarrassed. It was so bad that I wanted to die but I was afraid to kill myself. I was afraid to do it, so I would do things to other people expecting them to kill me… but they wouldn’t! I even went as far to the point that I had sex with a guy that had HIV, thinking I was going to die.” The Prophetess prostituted herself, she robbed whomever, gang banged, and became excessively violent, which caught the attention of local law enforcement. 

 

Redeeming Power Number Two: while she was smoking crack, she would still call on the name of God to come and save her! 

     At these times, she knew enough to give God His Word right back to Him – keeping that line of communication open! Amid this season (circa 2008), Prophetess Walters racked up 35 felony convictions, and was facing 111 years in prison… BUT GOD!!! Facing the judge, God began to smile on her and gave her a pivotal shift in her journey. She was sentenced to two years in prison, which is where this season ends, and the preparation for the next season begins! Now, before her new work could begin, she had to kill every aspect of her former bondage to be completely free! Prophet Walters completely detoxed during her prison stay! She was also tested for HIV, going straight to God’s Word, crying out to God to save her life, because she no longer wanted to die! After being tested inconclusive for HIV twice, the Prophetess started a fast that lasted about 17 days.  On the 17th day, the Prophetess woke up to  Joel 3:21 – …Thy blood that once wasn’t clean has now been made clean… Your sins have been forgiven.

 

Redeeming Power Number 3: the HIV test was and continues to be negative!

FINALLY BECOMING PROPHET YOLANDA WALTERS!!!

     After being released from prison in 2009, her new season had finally begun! Prophet Walters, in her own words, said “Our tests become our testimonies; Our mess becomes our message; you know, our story becomes ‘HIStory’ of who He is!” Today, Prophetess Walters lives in the metropolitan Atlanta area, where she owns Amazingly Clean Domestic Service, LLC. She is also the founder of Standing Shoulder 2 Shoulder Inc., where she empowers individuals to reach their full potential through a mentorship called U.M.A. (Unleashing Mental Athletes). To add to her list, she is the Visionary of Simply HOPE Ministries (Helping Others Produce Eternally). Simply HOPE mission is to bring one's indescribable futures to reality by changing their doubts to beliefs, despairs to expectations, distrust to confidence, and hopelessness to ambition by renewing the mind with Hope!

 

     Prophet Yolanda Walters is a conqueror and survivor, a Licensed Minister and Prophet, who has been delivering God’s Word as His mouthpiece to the nations. She is obedient to her call, and ministers wherever God sends her – only being led by the Holy Spirit, and not allowing denominations to have any bearing or impact on her mandate and/or calling!
